The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the study, development, and production operations of the Halgan and Shahini gas fields was signed today (August 30, 2025) between the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), MAPNA OGDC, IMIDRO, and several steel companies.
These fields, with a total in-place gas volume of approximately 18 trillion cubic feet, are located in the south of Fars Province. In this project, MAPNA Group will act as the Exploration & Production (E&P) company and play a key role in advancing the development objectives.
According to forecasts, the development of these fields will allow for the production of about 35 million cubic meters of natural gas and 25,000 barrels of condensate per day.
The project aims to secure feedstock for the steel and mining industries while helping to reduce the country’s gas imbalance.
